Anchor418 is a fellowship of Christians committed to sharing the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ, new life in Him and the advancement of Christianity throughout the world. We want to follow the example of those who put their faith in Him after His death, burial, and resurrection. Our desire is to help people know JESUS! 

We affirm the following core beliefs that motivate and guide us: 

WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

GOD is the one, holy God who eternally exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. GOD created all things visible and invisible. God is perfect in wisdom, power, and love, knowing all things past, present, and future, and his sovereign plan of redemption was set in place before the foundation of the world. 

(Genesis 1:1-2, Dt. 6:4, Hebrews 11:3, Ephesians 1:9-10; Revelation 13:8) 

JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God, the eternal Word, the one and only Savior, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, both fully human and fully divine; Who lived a sinless life; Who suffered and was crucified as an atonement for sin; Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended to the right hand of the Father where he presently reigns as our king, high priest, and advocate until his glorious return. 

(John 3:16, Colossians 1:15; 2:9-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, 20-28; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Hebrews 4:14-15) 

The HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD is fully divine and active in the church and the world. The Holy Spirit draws all people to Christ by illuminating the gospel and convicting of sin. He indwells every Christian; helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us in prayer and empowers us to a fruitful Christian life. 

(John 16:8-11; Acts 2:38; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Galatians 3:2) 

WE BELIEVE GOD IS REVEALED IN THE BIBLE, the uniquely inspired written Word of God and infallible in all that it affirms. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. 

(2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21) 

WE BELIEVE EVERY PERSON IS VALUABLE as a creation of God. God creates all humans, male and female, in his image, and therefore all people have intrinsic value and purpose, but all have sinned and fall short of His glory. As a result, all are lost, without hope, apart from Christ and in need of salvation through Him.

WE BELIEVE IN THE GOOD NEWS OF SALVATION and that although man willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ, God has intervened out of His great love, mercy, and grace.Salvation can be found in Christ alone and is offered to all by grace through faith. A living faith is demonstrated through repentance, confession, baptism by immersion, and a life of obedience.

WE BELIEVE THE CHURCH belongs to Jesus Christ, consisting of all who have put their trust in Him, serving in local groups of believers to carry out the work of making Jesus known and living lives that bear witness to His love and grace until He returns. 

(Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 3:10; 4:11-13; Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 2:9-10) 

WE BELIEVE JESUS IS COMING AGAIN and will visibly return to restore creation and judge the world. There will be a bodily resurrection for the believers to eternal life with God in heaven and for the unbelievers to eternal judgment in hell. In heaven, sin will be no more and those in Christ will live in fellowship with God forever.

WE BELIEVE GOD-ORDAINED MARRIAGE is the marital relationship as being between one (1) genetic man and one (1) genetic woman (Matthew 19:4-5). He has reserved sexual intimacy as an expression of love and commitment between married couples; and that any intimate expression of sexuality outside of Biblical marriage is sin. Marriage between persons of the same sex is contrary to our religious beliefs, as based in Scripture (1 Corinthians 6:9).
